The canadian shield
The Canadian Shield is the largest landform region in Canada. It stretches from Ontario to Yukon taking up 1/5 of Canada's area which is 4.4 million square kilometers. One great aspect of the shield is the vast biodiversity such as; fish, bears, wolves and beavers. It contains rounded hills of rock because of precipitation, this causes erosion which wears down the rock. Also the rocks are metamorphic and ingenuous which means you will see only those types of rocks when you go there, the rocks are a beautiful aspect because they stick out of the ground and it looks very nice. In the Canadian Shield there are many trees and lakes, the lakes were caused by a giant glacier that moved across Canada filling in holes which melted and created lakes. The vegetation are white pines, spruce and much more life such as in the Boreal Forest. The climate varies through the region with the precipitation being 200-1500mm throughout the year. The shield is filled with natural resources which is a good thing or a bad thing, it is good because we humans use them to make electricity or to make certain items but it is a bad thing because there are many trees in the shield so companies will cut them down for paper and when you mine and generate coal into electricity it pollutes the environment.
